Yellow Owl Workshop

Perched atop a blustery hill in San Francisco, California is a place called the Yellow Owl Workshop. The husband and wife duo that run the outfit – Christine Schmidt on design, Evan Gross on everything else – have my utter admiration. They describe themselves in the business of 'limited edition paper goods, wedding correspondence and items for the home'. It's a bit like saying planes fly. I mean, it's accurate but doesn't exactly describe the state of high excitement I experience faced with either air travel or the stationary made by Schmidt. It is kind of folky, a bit country, a bit Euro (those crests!) but clean in that pared-back style of the great American modernists. Honestly, I don't know what else to add except let's hope they prosper 4 eva.

You can buy their excellent items online through Notemaker in Australia (yay!). Personally, I'm holding out until the end of the year when Schmidt's book on printmaking hits the shops.
