Camilla Engman

I can't rightly remember how I stumbled onto Swedish illustrator and artist Camilla Engman. It might have been a link from a blog (I'll find it, I promise). Other than a fondness for the name which spelled with a 'k' runs in my family I was guided by simple curiosity. I'm glad I found her. Engman's brooding landscapes, solitary pale figures and mournful animals speak of long winters where the sun don't shine. This ceramic bowl and cup, made in collaboration with Karin Errikson, is cute alright, so why does it make me feel like crying?
